Winsor Newton Watercolor

By Mary Ann Boysen

As I mentioned on my watercolor paint page, I was introduced to Winsor Newton watercolor paints by my first instructor. At the time, it was the best value for the money since I used the student grade pigments. Over the years I experimented quite a lot.

I still use Winsor Newton watercolor pigments regularly. For those of you starting out, here are some of their products that you may want to add to your palette (so to speak). They are all high quality and fairly easy on the budget as well.

 Windsor Newton Color Pans

Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor Field Box Sets are easier to manage outdoors, and these pan sets are designed to be compact and lightweight. That's what makes them great for Plein Air painting. This exclusive compact box has been designed to be lightweight, fitting snugly into your pocket while providing everything required for outdoor watercolor painting. It contains 12 Cotman half-pans, a pocket Scepter brush, a sponge, 3 mixing areas, a water bottle and a cup.
